It’s official! I’m on a Yarn Diet!
I got this wonderful banner from Wendy Knits (I hope you don’t mind me using it!)
I’ve got a whole bunch of yarn that needs using up. So first to go is my new work project. I work on this during breaks and lunches at work, and right before I go to sleep.
It’s a purse! In DEEP PINK. Lion Brand Suede in “Rose”. I’m carefully counting my stitches so I can format it into a PDF and sell it if it turns out cute. (Otherwise I guess I would offer it for free? IDK)
I was told that if I can gather up 4 people for a class, we are 100% GO! (I need at least 4)
I can also create a custom class, so if you and a few friends have something you want to learn that I know how to do, let me know! (This would be along the lines of…. we have knitting 101, knitting 201 and cables class. What I can create is like…. Ruffle scarves are popular right now. I can make a ruffle scarf class if 4 people are interested in it. ((Except personally I dislike ruffle scarves, but I love knitting.)))
I’m off Monday! I hope I can go see an old friend of mine (can we go get bagels?), and perhaps get some sewing done. I need to wait until next payday to get some more poplin and a few purse zippers for something I have planned.
Speaking of planning… Here is my epic to-do list:
I want to try to get this done by the end of September, but I have a feeling I might get to number 5 if I’m lucky. We’ll see, yes? I’m trying not to undertake too many projects, but I want my fabric stash to go down! I’ve passed 300 yards now and it’s just gotta go!
I’m helping to write articles and posts for a new joint blog, that I can announce soon. It’s yet to be set up fully and I want it to be a nice surprise!
Tomorrow I teach a crochet class.
Oh yes! I work at JoAnns and will now be teaching classes on and off until they have a regular schedule for me.
But yes, I only teach until 12 noon and after that I should be coming home to get some sewing done. I am rather excited about all that, because I want to put my dress form back down to my size so I can make something, so I need to finish up what’s already on there. Hopefully I have enough leftover of that fabric to re-do the corset.
The 3rd Tuesday of every month, there is a quilting class closeby that I’d like to go to. I really need to learn… hehe.
I have another midnight shift coming up, but I’m off wednesday and thursday. I plan to finish up these commissions, and then work on a new dress and skirt.
Sage Dots
Alice has been a bit sick or confused lately. Recently she’s been the only cat to hack up hairballs (no doubt her consumption of hair ties… We’ve locked all that we could find up after learning of her… pica?) And she seems to have lost track of where the catbox is? She’s barely a year old. She grew up in my mom’s place where the catbox was in the basement, so Alice keeps going down our stairs to the small landing and using that. As well as vomiting there (a recent thing?). Today I noticed a tiny bit of blood, and I’m very worried.
So I’m taking her back to my mom’s place in hopes that she’ll get a little better. Best case scenario, she recovers over the weekend and we can take her back home, or… I will see her again in a month. *sniffle*
I currently seem to have a problem with deadlines, as my two recent friends/clients can testify to. So I am not taking on any more projects for others until I can fix this. It may be a few months.
I have a job at JoAnns! This makes it much more important for me to finish up Elly’s outfit. (because I now have to make myself some work skirts!
